Student Ambassador
Student Ambassadors have the unique opportunity to develop and receive training in communication, public relations, marketing, and interpersonal skills. The HUSD Student Ambassador Program is a district-wide leadership opportunity for students who are dedicated to serving and representing Hayward Unified School District and the City of Hayward. The primary goal of the program is for the Ambassadors to collect input from their peers regarding their experiences at school. This will include the school climate, safety, and academics. Ambassadors work with a staff advisor to conduct a small inquiry project regarding the school's climate and then makes a proposal for how some form of improvment. The ambassadors then present their survey fingding and proposal to the Superintendent and District officials. After this presentation, the students are given up to $200 to fund their proposal the following school year.
Any 4-5th grade student may apply and applications can be found on this page. Applications are due each year by the first week of November. Contact Principal Haupert for more information.
